Create in Me a Clean Heart Oh God. Psalm 51:10

I chose Mark 12:30 as my bible verse for 2014
because I want to learn to serve God
with all my heart,
with all my soul,
with all my mind and
with all my strength.
I also chose this scripture because
I like that it says with all my strength.
Matthew 22:36-40  says;
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”
 And He said to him,
“You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your mind.
This is the great and first commandment.
If the greatest commandment
is to love the Lord my God with all my heart, soul
and mind, I have to study God’s Word to
 learn what this truly means.
I need a clean heart to accept God’s Word.
Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart,
O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Ezekiel 36:26
And I will give you a new heart,
and a new spirit I will put within you.
And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh
and give you a heart of flesh.
God is the one who can create  a new heart in me.
He will remove my heart of stone
and give me a living heart of flesh.
Psalm 139:23
Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
Romans 8:27
And He who searches hearts knows
what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes
for the saints according to the will of God.
Proverbs 4:23
Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for from it flow the springs of life.
Matthew 5:8
“Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and he will make straight your paths.
James 4:7-8
Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
Cleanse your hands, you sinners,
and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Psalm 119:11
I have stored up your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,
teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom,
singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
                                              Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active,
                              sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing to the division of soul and of spirit,
                                        of joints and of marrow,
                                 and discerning the thoughts and
                                        intentions of the heart.
God is the only one who can give me a clean heart.
He is the only one who can remove my old heart of stone.
Father keep my heart from any evil
so that I will live with You forever.
Father, create in me a clean heart
and make me like You in all my ways.
Father, I pray that I will love You and
You only with all my heart, and all my mind,
and all my soul.
Father I do not want to love any other God but You.
Father, please make Your living word dwell in my heart,
my mind and my soul all the days of my life.
Father, I please remove any unworthy thoughts
from my heart, soul and mind.
Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
Thank You for creating a clean heart in me God.
Thank you God for searching my heart and
 knowing my ways and thoughts.
Thank you for revealing Your will to me
through Your Holy and inspired word.
In Jesus Most Holy Name I pray, Amen.

What is your Bible Verse for 2014???

My Bible Verse for 2014 is:

Mark 12:30

English Standard Version (ESV)
30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
I like to substitute I shall, for you shall and with all my, for with your.
The idea for this came from my Brother in Christ J. Randal Matheny http://randalmatheny.com/2014/01/01/bible-verse-2014/
I will be posting more on this as the days of 2014 pass us by.
Also inspired by J. Randal is a daily Bible reading plan that I started today.
It sounds next to impossible but I actually read through the first reading and I was already longing for more. I am so excited for the challenge to stick with this reading plan. Let me know if you are joining in so we can encourage one another. http://forthrightpress.com/2013/12/31/daily-bible-reading-plan-2014/

God Helps His People so Why Worry?

I really like these sites. Disclaimer: I am not associated with these sites in any way other than I use them for personal study.

http://shereadstruth.com/ and https://www.bible.com/

I struggle with studying the bible everyday.  I intend to study daily but I let other things take my time.  I am trying to get into His Word every day. This plan helps me to stay focused and study the bible everyday.

This particular study is so timely for me as there is a recurring issue that my family is dealing with at this time. It is a matter that could cause an extreme amount of worry if I do not trust in God’s promises. I need these reminders daily. Even when things are going well. As for me I choose to serve the Lord God who is the Almighty God. His promises are true. I want to live in the center of His will and not mine.
The following is from youversion.com bible studies
God Helps His People http://shereadstruth.com/ and https://www.bible.com/

A few questions for those with a tendency to worry (pause briefly and ponder each one):
• What situations in life are you most worried about right now? Why?
• Of the various situations currently prompting anxiety in your life, which can you personally change?
Over what issues do you have absolutely no control?
• What are the inward and outward signs that something has got you really concerned and nervous?
• List all the benefits of worrying. What are some of the drawbacks?
• Is worrying a “sin”? Why or why not?
• How do you think God feels when his children are panicky and anxious?
• Why do some people seem almost immune to worry?
• When is the last time you truly felt at peace?
Instead of worrying, you can cry out to God for help. In times of trouble, trust in God’s unfailing love.
God’s Promise to Me
• When you cry out to me, I will help you.
My Prayer to God
God, I’m crying out to you for help. Help me trust that you will come to my
rescue.
Jeremiah 29: 11For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  12Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  13You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.   14I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.
Psalm 107:19Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.  20He sent out his word and healed them; He rescued them from the grave. 21Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.

My Attitude Has Stunk Lately!!!!

I have to remind my self of Philippians 4:7 often.
My attitude has really stunk lately.  I cannot feel the peace that passes all understanding when my attitude stinks . All I feel is a lot of unrest.
Some words really spoke to my heart as I was reading scriptures today.
Matthew 22:37
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.
Colossians 3:1-3,5
(Speaking to those who have been baptized into Christ)
Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
Set you mind on the things above, not on things that are on earth.
For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
v 5 So put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth…
Romans 12:2-3
Do not be conformed to this present world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
For by the grace given to me I say to every one of you not to think more highly of yourself that you ought to think; but to think with sober discernment as God has given to each a measure of faith.
Why has my attitude stunk lately?
Selfishness
Self-centered ambition
Thinking more highly of my self than I ought.
Not loving God more than myself.
Not loving God with all my heart, soul and mind.
Not seeking the things above where Christ is seated with God.
Not setting my mind above but setting it on the things of this earth.
Being conformed to this world.
Not renewing my mind with the Word of God.
What do I need to do about this stinking attitude?
Love the Lord God with all my heart, mind and soul.
Seek thing above.
Stop being selfish.
Stop being self centered.
Think more highly of others.
Love God more than myself.
Do not be conformed to this world.
Set my mind on things above and stay in the Word and Prayer.

Tutorial: How to Make a Shabby Chic Junk Gypsy Style Machine Emboridered Wedding Banner

Personalized Wedding Banner

Matthew 19:4-6

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
Pick the material for your project.
My niece picked these four colors and they worked well together.
We decided to use this size twine for the connecting material.
You may use ribbon or fabric.
I chose to embroidery two or three letters at a time.
Actually, only one stitches at a time but it saves on
hooping material and time.
I like to stitch the outline and then measure to
see what size I need to cut the material.
1. I decided the pattern I would use.
2.  I cut all of the banner material and
tagged each with the letter to be stitched.
There were ten letters in this banner.
Five for Emily and five for Blake.
Since I am a visual person,  I organize
the banners this way so I do not make any mistakes.
I used a stiff interfacing on the banner triangles.
It gives them a very nice firmness.

Trim close to stitching trying not to cut stitches.
I cut the twine 24″ long and folded it in half.
Measure the banner in half at the top.
This one happened to be 2 1/2″.
Just be sure to measure in case yours is a different size.
I used scotch tape to hold the twine down for stitching.
Put the center of the 24″ twine on the  middle mark.
Hold the twine in the middle and stretch it to the right
and tape outside the stitching area.
Stretch the twine to the left and tape outside the stitching area.
Lay the first material of the triangle on the triangle shape.
Return the hoop to the embroidery machine and stitch.
I used Heat n Bond Lite to keep the letter material from fraying.
Follow manufacturer directions.
 Peel the backing paper off.
Place the letter material on top of the banner triangle.
Return hoop to the machine and stitch.
Remove the hoop from the machine.
Trim close to the stitching without clipping.
I like to use a Sticky Lint Roller to get all the
loose clippings off of the banner triangle.
Tape a piece of matching material  on the back of the banner triangle.
I top stitched the banner triangle in a coordinating thread and at the
same time it stitches the back piece of material on the banner piece.
You may do it anyway you want.
Be sure to keep your tying string out of the stitching area.
The banner triangle is ready to be removed from the embroidery hoop

unless you are embroidering more than one letter in a hooping.
This picture is to show the contrasting color top stitch.
I prefer to spend time stitching and then trim all at once.
So, I stitch a lot of triangles and then I trim.
Be very mindful of the string for tying when you trim the triangles.
Pull the top layer back and trim the bottom layer.
Do the same with the top layer.
Trim all sides of the triangle.
The triangles are ready to tie together to make the banner.
I used Planet Appliques Reversible Banner Pattern.
However, I altered it a little. I chose to use pinking shears to
trim the triangles  to give it a Shabby Chic-Junk Gypsy look.

What I Have Been Up to in the Month of January 2013

The first three weeks of January I was sick for two weeks and my husband was sick for a week.
Now it is the first week of February and my husband is sick again. Ugh!!!!
The most important thing I did was an online Bible Study. The bible study was Soul Detox and it is http://www.youversion.com
In the mean time I have been listing some Vintage things to sell.
I was having serious withdrawals from sewing so
I cleaned up my sewing room and
started my machine to humming for two days.
Then I remembered that I was going through all the
Vintage things I have in my house and
deciding that it is time to move them on out.
So, now you know what I have been up to in January 2013.

Hau’oli Makahiki Hou

Mele Kalikimaka and Hau’oli Makahiki Hou
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
We skipped Christmas at home this year and took a 10 day trip to Hawaii.
What a wonderful idea this was. We were enjoying 75 degree days while a lot of the country was covered with snow.
The islands of Hawaii were full of Christmas Cheer. It seemed strange to see the Christmas decorations in such a lush tropical location.
People greeted us with Aloha and Mele Kalikimaka and Hau’oli Makahiki Hou everywhere we went.
My tongue does not work well with the Hawaiian pronunciation.

Hawaii has so many different cultures. It is so interesting. Hardly anyone you talk to is a native Hawaiian.
I am sure you will be hearing a lot more about Hawaii as I only have about 1600 pictures.
I will you the best for the coming new year.
2013—Can you believe it?
Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
