Rain Rain Rain, Beautiful Rain

This is my husband baptizing a man in Zambia whom he had studied with in 2009 and again in July of 2012. You may notice the cane that Stephen is holding for the man being baptized in Apollo Dam.

Stephen and Bashan helping Mr Phiri out of the water.

It has been so dry here all summer.
We have had a few showers but not enough to last long with the 100+ degree weather. However, we finally got a good rain today.
Matthew 5:45
…for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Hebrews 11:7
By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
By water God saved Noah and his family because of the faith they had.
Our faith in Jesus Christ and our obedience to be baptized  into Him  saves us from our sins.
Our warning comes from Jesus Christ Himself:
Mark 16:16
He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
Acts 2:38
Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 22:16
Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.
Romans 6:3
Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?
Galatians 3:27
For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
1 Peter 3:18-21
For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in person, who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.
Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you–not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Fun, Fun, Fun Stitching

Just some new things I have been working on this week. I am loving these new Fall Tea Light Covers. They are so cute and well made. Perfect for Fall decorating, gifts for yourself, friends or teachers.
1 Corinthians 1:18
For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved it it the power of God.
I just made the Baby Girl Tea Light Covers today.
They are so Sweet!!!!
A Tea Light fits nicely in each one. It lights up with a soft glow in a dimly lit room. So, it would be perfect for a sweet baby’s room as a night light.
I tried my best to get a nice picture but it just did not work well enough to post.

What a Nice Surprise

What a nice surprise I received this morning when I checked my blog.

First of all let me say, I give God the glory for any good I might do. He has blessed me to travel to Zambia four times to do His work there. My heart is still so full of Zambia today that I can scarcely believe I have been there and back already.
I met Pamela through blogging and entering her Heavenly Treat Sunday Link Party.  She seems to have the kind of attitude that I strive to have.

First of all, when she describes herself she gives God all the credit.
I have a lot of respect for a mom of six children, especially because she is home schooling them.
Having taught four year olds for twenty years gives me a deep appreciation for anyone who loves children and wants to train them right.
Let us all strive to live like the Proverbs 31 lady.
Please leave a comment and let me know how you are doing that. Let us hold each other accountable.
Description of a Worthy Woman-Proverbs 31:

10 An excellent wife, who can find?
For her worth is far above jewels.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her,
And he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
13 She looks for wool and flax
And works with her hands in delight.
14 She is like merchant ships;
She brings her food from afar.
15 She rises also while it is still night
And gives food to her household
And portions to her maidens.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
From her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She girds herself with strength
And makes her arms strong.
18 She senses that her gain is good;
Her lamp does not go out at night.
19 She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hands grasp the spindle.
20 She extends her hand to the poor,
And she stretches out her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household,
For all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies belts to the tradesmen.
25 Strength and dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future.
26 She opens her mouth in wisdom,
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27 She looks well to the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children rise up and bless her;
Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:
29 “Many daughters have done nobly,
But you excel them all.”
30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
31 Give her the product of her hands,
And let her works praise her in the gates.
Blessings from above from where all blessings flow. God is mighty and all things are possible for him. I give Him the glory for any good I might do.
