Adonai is the Hebrew word that means LORD  in English.
Adonai (a-do-ni) is found in the Bible  439 times

You will bring them and plant  them in the mountain of Your  inhertiance,
The place, O LORD, which You have made for Your dwelling,
The sanctuary, O LORD, which Your hands established.
Deuteronomy 10: 17(NASB)
“For the LORD your God is the God of gods and the Lord of lords,
the great, the  mighty, and the awesome God who does not show partiality
nor take a bribe.
1 Corinthians 8: 6 (NASB)
yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and
we exist for Him; and one Lord, JesusChrist, by whom are all things, and
we exist through Him.

Don’t Let Your Light Blow Out

Photo as well as content is copyrighted by Shelia Holmes

God will see us through anything and everything.
He wants us to come through the storm with our light shinning.
Trust God to help us not let our light blow out.
Then we will not go through the storm in darkness.
God will be our light and we will be a light to others for God.

ISAIAH 55:8-9 (NASB,Tecarta)
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher that your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Until next time. Romans 8:28

El Roi The God Who Sees

This picture was taken in Zambia as we traveled through the mountains.
Copyrighted by Shelia Holmes
El Roi is commonly translated as
“The God Who Sees”.
El Roi is only used one time in the Bible, in Genesis 16:13

How many times do we need to hear it to realize that God sees everything?

Genesis 16:9 Then the angel of the LORD said to her, “Return to your mistress,
and submit yourself to her authority. ” Moreover, the angel of the LORD said to her,
“I will greatly multiply your descendants so that they will be too many to count.”
Genesis 16: 13
Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, “You are a God who sees.” for she said,  “Have I even remained alive here after seeing Him?”
This was Hagar’s response after she encountered the Angel of the LORD.
Hagar,  the maidservant of Sarai, had run away because she was being mistreated by Saria.
Do we need to return to something that we have run away from?
God–El Roi sees everything.  He will not leave us alone. He will provide exactly what we need. Exactly when we need it.
Make it a Romans 8:28 day.
Blessings.

Where Does the Peace that Passes all Understanding Come From?

This was originially posted in  August 10, 2008
Modified 2-2012

This life deals us misery.
We have unseen things coming at us from every angle.
How do we deal with this?
How do we survive seeing a child deal with a drug addiction for years?
How do we deal with the death of our 22 year old brother when we are just 25?
How do we deal with the loss of grandparents and parents through death?
How do we deal with personal illness, the illness of a spouse, a child or a parent?
How do we deal with watching our dad slip away with Alzheimer’s?
How do we deal with depression or other mental illness of our own or a loved one?
The list goes on and on….the loss of a job, no income, numerous handicaps,
lack of family support, loss of friends, natural disaster, you fill in the blank.
A long time ago I discovered;
Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good  to those who love God, and are called according to His purpose.”
This was the first time that bad made sense to me.
I began to accept that God is in control.
I believe His promises to cause everything to work together for good to those who love Him.
It is my job to love Him and do what He ask of me so He can cause everything to work for good  in my life.
He promises us that He will give us the Peace that Passes all Comprehension.
Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
I am standing on His promises.
How about you?
